An article in the USGA Green Section Record reports on a number of courses in Florida where the Superintendent has achieved more sustainable putting surfaces after raising the cutting height.  This enables more effective top dressing, a significant reduction in nitrogen, healthier turf and all this without lowering standards in terms of putting surface playing quality.
